Villa Rastorguyevo is located in a quiet township not far from Moscow. Clients, a couple with a schoolgirl daughter and an adult son decided to build themselves a private house looking for a different way of living, yet keeping their apartment in the city.

The house is composed of three square volumes, two of which, covered with pent roofs, are living quarters, while the third one with a flat roof is a garage. Volumes are shifted against one another to form three semi-closed courtyards, each with its own function. The first courtyard, placed in the centre, forms a deep niche leading to the main entrance.

The second one is a low terrace occupying the inner corner between two living blocks. It’s the main outdoor space of the house with a perfect connection to the living/dining area as well as the study. There’s an old pine tree growing through a circular hole in the terrace larch decking. The third courtyard is a kitchen garden with some herbs and vegetables raised by clients to enjoy country-style life.
